Like everybody, I was beside myself when I googled "NHL" out of habit at 6 am this morning and saw the news. I woke up my roommate --- and probably about half of my building --- with a string of weird noises I didn't know my body could produce.

But, I'm also a little hesitant to come groveling back so easily.

So here's the day dream I've been having throughout the lockout: How cool would it be if hockey fans across North America boycotted their team's season opener. Make them play the first game back in completely empty arenas. Then, of course, we'd all join back in for the second game.

I know it's a pipe dream, but I'd feel wrong not throwing the idea out into the cyberwurld. Thoughts?

Finally, the Devils can win the second "half" of the cup they won in '95,
