The Previews: My preview from earlier this morning is right here. For the opposition's side, Adnan has this preview at Silver Seven.
A Song for Tonight: Might as well have something to dance to. Or nod your head at. "Something Good Can Work" by the Two Door Cinema Club is a good song on it's own. But the remix by The Twelves is very well done, so get down to that. Even if the Devils go down, you can catch a groove.
Game Night Info: As expected, Ryan Carter will be in tonight and Mattias Tedenby will make his season debut according to today's report by Tom Gulitti at Fire & Ice. What's not as expected is the defense. No, Mark Fayne remains unjustly stapled to the press box. But there is a change in the top four. Gulitti's post reports that Adam Larsson will be paired with Bryce Salvador while Marek Zidlicky will start with Andy Greene. This is an interesting twist. Larsson has been paired mostly with Greene; if he can have a good game without Greene, then the coaches may be more open to making some other changes instead of locking themselves to a 6-5 pairing. Salvador may not be able to bail out the youngster like Greene, but he can be more punishing so someone can take a physical role as needed. Likewise, Zidlicky's own defensive shortcomings could be better covered up by a more mobile and less penalty-prone defenseman like Greene. It's something to watch.
Allen Panzeri reported at Senators Extra that Ottawa head coach Paul MacLean will continue to keep Clarke MacArthur, Kyle Turris, and Bobby Ryan as one unit with a second line of Milan Michalek, Jason Spezza, and Cory Conacher. While MacLean wants more offense, the underlying metrics of MacArthur-Turris-Ryan are fabulous enough that the Devils need to do what they can to contain them while striking back against the other lines. Also, the Sens waived Stephane Da Costa, who will be sent down if he clears and Panzeri asserted that Jean-Gabriel Pageau could be next on the hot seat.
The Reminder of Rules:This is a place where you can comment about this game before, during, and after it's played before the recap is up. This is a place where we primarily discuss the Devils game. An odd mention of other NHL games is OK, but it shouldn't dominate discussion. All comments will be clean, respectful of each other, relevant to the game, and legal (read: no illegal streams, don't ask for/tell about one). Please refrain from posting large pictures and .gifs as well so the thread doesn't get too bogged down. This will be open until a recap of this game is up later tonight. Go Devils!
