Based on TG's latest report, Lou has done something he normally doesn't do and dispels some of the rumors that have been floating around:
"There are a lot of rumors going on, a lot of misinformation about our coach. So, I’m going to step out of character and put this to rest," Lamoriello said. "Pete DeBoer is under contract for next year, has been under contract for next year and will be coaching next year. That’s all I have to say "We usually wait to make any announcements about anything or when it’s not necessary (say nothing). Wherever the information is coming from, I can’t answer that, but I thought I’d just put that to rest."
You can read the whole story here. But my main reason for this post is to gauge the feeling around here about this. I know many people here don't like this move, but I'm wondering how prevalent it is.
Many will say he hasn't had the personnel, but it's not like they've missed the playoffs by 20 points. Obviously this season there have been a lot of complaints about his use of personnel (e.g. playing Brodeur too much, sticking with the same players in shootouts after a tremendous lack of success, etc.). Some of that could easily have made up the 5-7 points they've been short.
So, are you happy DeBoer is coming back?
