Zach Parise: Travis Zajac Says He'll Be Out for 4-6 Months

19

According to Rich Chere's article featuring Zach Parise, Parise says that Travis Zajac told him he'll be out for 4-6 months - much more time than the 3 months originally reported in late August. I...

A Close Look at Colin White's Performance So Far This Season

14

Colin White is currently injured and leaves the Devils down to only 3 veteran defensemen on their blueline. I take a close look at his underlying stats to understand his performance this season to...

Gulitti: Parise now may be out for season

12

Tom Gulitti heard from Zach Parise today and got some bad news. Parise's doctor has recommended that he stay away from skating until he's re-examined in March. Depending on how that goes, that could keep him out for the rest of the season. Personally, if this means the knee heals properly, then I'm fine with it. If it's a lost season, then there's no reason to rush Parise back with nothing to play for.

Lou Lamoriello: Brian Rolston to have surgery for sports hernia, out 4-6 weeks

13

Tom Gulitti reports big news. Rolston will need surgery for a sports hernia. He will be out for 4-6 weeks and will go on long term injured reserve. The Devils will still play with 16 tonight, but will make roster decisions tomorrow. Yes, this only buys the Devils time, but Rolston on LTIR will free up more than enough space to replace all of the missing spots on the roster and give them a long time before having to make a permanent move.

The Devils’ non-Olympians resume practice at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Prudential Center and the hope is that defenseman Paul Martin and right wing David Clarkson will be able to participate. "We’re waiting for the doctors’ OKs," Devils general manager Lou Lamoriello told me this morning.

Tom Gulitti reports that not only will the New Jersey Devils practice tomorrow for the first time in weeks, but Paul Martin and David Clarkson might be involved too. Clarkson AND Martin? That would be massive if they get the medical approvals to practice. That's right. A week from now, we're back to Devils (and NHL) hockey. Just a small reminder.

Dainius Zubrus is reportedly returning to the New Jersey Devils to play tomorrow night in Ottawa. In advance of his return, I perform an in depth look into what makes Zubrus useful as a Devil,...

Elias to IR, Corrente to Lowell

I'm guessing it's a concussion though no one wants to admit it. Editor's Note: You're sort of right. The word is concussion symptoms, according to Lou as reported by Gulitti. Not the same thing, but the Devils are wise to play it safe all the same. Patrick Davis and Nick Palmieri have been called up in the meantime.
