"The picks are not going determine that. You’re not going to just do this to get picks. Whatever decision is made is going to be made because you feel that you can do certain things and not hurt yourself. All you have to do is go back to the Marty Brodeur year. Those are decisions that you make and you don’t worry about what people think."

"We had a couple of beers and just hung out," Brodeur said, downplaying it. "Celebrating these things…I'm not done playing the game so there will be more."

I ride the stationary bike a lot, so that's something that I don't mind doing. I workout with a personal trainer four times a week, plus my own cardio workout on top of that. So that's what I do to stay in shape, and I play a lot of golf which keeps me out of trouble

"It's been a great ride for me," Brodeur said in his speech in the Senate. New Jersey is my home. It's where my kids were born and go to school. New Jersey is everything, the Devils are everything for me. I'm just glad to be a part of it. We wear our jersey with the New Jersey logo all over the United States and Canada to represent all of you guys."

"In the playoffs, it’s important to be composed and I think we got out of the funk that we were in and we did a good job and we all did it together. It wasn’t one guy that took us out of the hole we were in. Everybody chipped in and now we’re looking forward."

"It was a pleasure to meet Patrick this morning," Brodeur said at his press conference this morning at the arena. "Not meet him, but talk to him a little bit. I've met him before. He just wanted to say, 'Hi' and wish me, 'good luck' on tonight's game. It was pretty nice of him. He's on a busy schedule coaching a junior team. It's not easy for him to get around. So, he came by this morning."

"Everything happens for a reason. I wanted this behind me now and not to deal with it (this late in the season), but I'm just happy that I'm feeling good and I'm back playing and I have this opportunity on Saturday."

"The elbow was great. Even playing the puck I didn't feel anything."

"They know that I'm ready to go," he [Brodeur] said. "I told them a few days ago. I kind of got sick. I wasn't supposed to play on (Long) Island anyway. I think it was good to take some time off too just to get me back. I told them I'm ready and it's up to them to look at me and feel comfortable. That's the bottom line. They have to feel comfortable having me there."

"I'm getting back in the swing of things. It's a matter of a week of a week or maybe more, 10 days, that I'll probably back and I just want to get back in the rhythm also."
