Eleven games and ten power play goals into the 2013 regular season, and there's evidence showing that the Devils' power play has improved to a degree from last season. However, there's more room for further improvement.

New Jersey Devils assistant coach Adam Oates has been hired by the Washington Capitals to be their head coach. In this post, I look at how the Devils' power play - one of Oates' main responsibilities - performed under Oates compared to prior seasons and determine that he wasn't all that effective.
